According to the Bavarian radio and the Süddeutsche Zeitung, the baby food manufacturer Hipp was probably the victim of a hacker attack. Officially, Hipp says nothing about it. However, the Hipp website informs users that the HiPP service center cannot be reached by telephone. An indication?

A few days ago, the well-known baby food manufacturer Hipp seems to have been hit by a hacker attack. Bavarian radio claims to have received an internal email as evidence, informing them of the attack. The mail was probably sent to all employees of the company. It is said to have stated verbatim that "the IT systems of the Hipp Group have become the victims of an external cyber attack" and that IT failures have to be dealt with accordingly.

Hipp: Internal mail about the attack leaked

Various media have probably asked Hipp by phone and e-mail, but probably couldn't reach anyone. But that something is not quite right was shown by the otherwise full parking lots with the vehicles of the more than 1.000 employees. Half of the parking spaces at the Hipp headquarters in Pfaffenhofen in Upper Bavaria are said to have been empty. Whether the reason was really the hacker attack cannot be determined. In the leaked internal mail, however, employees were probably instructed to go home.

Hipp behaves differently than other attacked manufacturers. Before that, it already had companies of a similar size as Knauf building materialsHygiene article manufacturer CWS and Medicare and Electronics manufacturer Semikron met. Also the IHK once had to report the loss of their website. All companies have had problems with their systems for a long time. But everyone communicated the attack openly and informed their customers.
