totemo makes it easier for unsettled Symantec customers to switch from PGP. In its email encryption solution totemomail, totemo provides migration tools with immediate effect, which enable corporate customers of Symantec's PGP encryption solutions to switch over automatically.

Marcel Mock, CTO of totemo, explains: "Last year after the takeover of Symantec by Broadcom we had several inquiries from customers of Symantec solutions who were looking for an alternative and we have already been able to support some customers and successfully migrate to totemomail."

Totemo has now incorporated the expertise gained in this way into its product in order to make the migration to a state-of-the-art encryption solution even easier for future customers. totemomail is a comprehensive alternative for the Symantec solutions "Desktop Email Encryption", "Gateway Email Encryption" and "Mobile Email Encryption".

Migration to proven encryption standards

With totemomail's migration tools, existing messages, mainly encrypted with PGP, are migrated to a different standard. You can choose between S / MIME and Microsoft Azure Information Protection (MS AIP). S / MIME is preferred by companies that appreciate the native support of the standard in all common e-mail clients and would like to do without plug-ins for e-mail encryption in the future. totemomail can be operated on the e-mail client without plug-ins or additional software. MS AIP is particularly attractive for companies that are increasingly relying on Microsoft technologies and is also supported by totemomail.

Depending on the company's operational requirements, the migration to the selected standard takes place either fully automatically for all user accounts or on the initiative of the individual employee for their own e-mails. This option is used by companies that allow their employees to use their business e-mail address privately, since in this case consent to the migration is usually required and this is how it is done.
