Sophos takes over Refactr and optimizes its Managed Threat Response and Extended Detection and Response solutions with Security Operation Automation and Response (SOAR) functions. This closes the gap between DevOps and cybersecurity.

Sophos, a global leader in next-generation cybersecurity, announced today that it has acquired Refactr. Founded in 2017 in the USA, the company offers a versatile DevSecOps automation platform that bridges the gap between DevOps and cybersecurity. Refactr serves both the private, public and government sectors, including the Center for Internet Security and Platform One of the US Air Force.

Refactr's technology enables scaling

DevOps and security teams often rely on IT-as-code to manage their environments. Despite this approach, Refactr's technology enables problem-free scaling, as all processes can be automated. With the Refactr platform, DevOps teams can, for example, extend existing workflows for continuous integration, continuous delivery and continuous deployment (CI / CD), or cybersecurity teams can use the platform's visual drag-and-drop builder.

Sophos is optimizing Refactr's DevSecOps automation platform to add Security Operation, Automation and Response (SOAR) to its Managed Threat Response (MTR) and Extended Detection and Response (XDR) solutions. These also contribute to the automation of the Adaptive Cybersecurity Ecosystem from Sophos, which forms the basis for all product solutions, services, threat intelligence and the data lake from Sophos.

Security-first automation for DevSecOps

“We developed the Refactr platform so that any organization can deliver effective DevSecOps through holistic security-first automation. Our platform is specifically designed to be versatile, interoperable and easy to use. Cyber security teams can now work with DevOps to easily create complex IT automation and security integrations through DevSecOps channels, ”said Michael Fraser, CEO and Co-Founder of Refactr. "Our mission is to make DevSecOps a modern approach to automation, in which cybersecurity use cases such as SOAR, XDR, compliance, cloud security and Identity and Access Management (IAM) become building blocks for DevSecOps solutions."
