Quantum-safe encryption on the Secret Server complies with NIST standards and enables organizations to protect critical credentials from access by quantum computers using one of four NIST-recommended asymmetric algorithms, CRYSTALS-Kyber. According to the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), “quantum computing opens up exciting new possibilities. However, the consequences of this new technology also include threats to the current cryptographic standards that ensure the confidentiality and integrity of data and support key elements of network security.” Increased financial investments in quantum technology amounted to $2022 billion in 2,35. dollars, making the prospect of a usable quantum computer increasingly realistic. Delinea's quantum-safe encryption uses one of the four asymmetric algorithms recommended by NIST, CRYSTALS-Kyber. It was designed to protect sensitive secrets with the least amount of effort for users. The new QuantumLock feature, an upgrade to the current DoubleLock feature, serves as an additional layer of security for secrets. It protects not only general access, but also privileged access for administrators of the PAM solution. This means that the encryption complies with CISA and NIST recommendations and ensures that valuable data is protected today and in the future.
