The European IT security manufacturer ESET is now offering a security solution for Microsoft 365 users. ESET Cloud Office Security (ECOS) provides advanced preventive protection for the cloud tools and the OneDrive online data storage.

The independent software-as-a-service solution relies on the award-winning mix of anti-malware scanning, anti-phishing and spam filtering. The main focus is on checking the Exchange online services so that the main gateway for ransomware remains securely closed.

More security in the home office

Many companies have recognized the advantages of cloud services at the latest since the move to the home office due to the coronavirus. They are increasingly relying on the top dog Microsoft 365, which offers its classic Office products as cloud applications plus online data storage. ESET Cloud Office Security is recommended for those who rely on online collaboration in their team and at the same time want to keep the risk of attacks to a minimum. Because securing email and cloud storage is the linchpin of cybersecurity for cloud-affine companies. Without a solid foundation of anti-malware protection, the door and gate are open to attackers.

More security in the cloud

The ESET Software-as-a-Service solution provides an additional layer of protection for Microsoft 365 cloud email and storage. With the automatic protection of the user mailboxes, it ensures a reassuring feeling for all team members. The anti-malware protection reacts to all file changes in OneDrive, which minimizes the risk of malware spreading to other devices.

ESET Cloud Office Security gives you complete control and visibility of threats with instant notification when malware is detected. A user-friendly web console helps IT administrators manage and take immediate action in the event of a hazard. They can be accessed from anywhere.

Isolation mode for dangerous files and emails

In a separate sector of the cloud storage, admins can analyze suspicious elements and then decide whether they should be eliminated or released for their network. Isolation mode makes it easy to manage emails, attachments and files that have been classified as suspicious by the security solution.

Fully automated rollout saves time and money

By activating the "Automatic protection" function, all users and groups using Microsoft 365 applications are automatically protected. They do not have to be added separately via the web console. At the same time, users are automatically assigned licenses and policies. In addition, the admin can set that he will receive notification e-mails in the event of a detection in order to be made aware of possible dangers at any time.

Filtered hazard detection

All malware finds are recorded and can be accessed via a special area in the management console. The administrator receives information about the detections and further details for Exchange and OneDrive. It can also filter for or find a particular threat using additional information about the specific detection.

Multi-tenancy for managed service providers

ECOS specifically supports the work of Managed Service Providers (MSP). They can add an unlimited number of tenants and manage them from one console. Different credentials, policies or separate discovery views are not a problem. In addition, an MSP can decide which companies each of its employees can see and manage. At the push of a button, he can find out all the information about his customer: starting with a general overview of the configuration (settings and assigned policies), with malware detections, right up to the important isolation mode for dangerous e-mails, attachments and files.

“We are excited to offer ESET Cloud Office Security, a solution that will protect countless businesses and their most valuable interactions and data. Our new, state-of-the-art and user-friendly solution is suitable for all companies that need to secure their cloud tools,” says Michael Schröder, Security Business Strategy Manager at ESET Deutschland GmbH.
