Digital Guardian extends endpoint DLP to Microsoft Teams, Slack, Skype, and Zoom. This means that the exchange of sensitive data can be better monitored and controlled and risky data exchange can be reduced.
Digital Guardian, a leading provider of Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and Managed Detection and Response (MDR), enables companies to communicate and collaborate securely from anywhere with its new DLP policy packages for Microsoft Teams, Skype, Slack and Zoom. This enables the exchange of sensitive data within these applications to be monitored and controlled and risky data exchange to be reduced.
Free policy packs
The Policy Packs are free to all Digital Guardian customers and allow greater control over messages, file shares, and user actions. With the rule-based real-time actions contained in the policy packs, system administrators can automatically block the exchange of confidential or sensitive files in the accounts of corporate and personal collaboration apps. In addition, these rules can be adapted to the needs of the organization. For example, administrators can allow authorized users to share sensitive files on company-approved collaboration apps, or warn users that they are about to share sensitive information.
Home office increased use of collaboration apps
“Working from anywhere has required increased use of collaboration apps, which means IT teams have to manage the increased risk posed by outbound data,” said Ben Cody, senior vice president, product management, Digital Guardian. "With our additional collaboration guidelines, we enable security analysts to easily regain control of the messaging behavior of their users and to defuse risky data exchange."
The new Digital Guardian policy packages cover the following use cases
Microsoft Teams
- Control of all file uploads to MS Teams (teams.exe)
- Control of classified file uploads to MS Teams (teams.exe)
- Control of file uploads to MS Teams (teams.exe) from the user's online OneDrive account

Slack
