In January and February 2021, the AV-TEST Institute tested 19 security solutions - and thus almost all important programs on the market - for companies running Windows 10.

The detailed results show how well the products performed in the areas of 'Protection', 'System load' (Performance) and 'Usability'.

Over 100.000 real malware attacks

Each individual program had to fend off more than 100.000 real malware attacks, whereby all protective functions such as URL / web filters, behavior-based detection and heuristics were taken into account in the test against zero-day threats and widespread malware. In the counter-check, over a million benign websites and files were checked that should not be recognized (false alarm test).

In January and February 2021, AV-TEST examined 19 security products for companies (endpoint protection) in the configuration specified by the manufacturer.

This is how it was tested in the laboratory

The latest publicly available versions of the products were always used for the test. They could update themselves online at any time and use their “in-the-cloud” services. AV-TEST only considered realistic test scenarios and checked the products against current threats. The products had to prove their capabilities using all functions and protection levels.
