More protection for Windows 10 in the company: AV-TEST tests 19 client-server solutions in the laboratory. All solutions were tested in the areas of protection against 21.000 copies of malware, as well as system load and usability.

The Magdeburg Institute tested 19 solutions for companies using Windows 10. All products were examined for two months in the areas of protection (protection), system load (performance) and usability (usability). In the test, the lab used 0-day malware and self-collected malware from the Internet. The solutions had to detect and fend off a total of 21.000 pieces of malware.

Most products are safe

The laboratory awards up to 18 points for a product in the test. The table of results contains a large number of protective solutions that achieve the maximum number of evaluation points. Of the 19 products, 10 got the full score of 18 and 5 still got 17,5 out of 18 points. The last 4 products got 16 to 17 points. Even the Windows internal Defender gets 10 points in the test under Windows 17. In a first test under Windows 11, it was only 16 points.

In addition to the protective effect, the test points for system load and usability are also interesting. It is checked whether the protection clients are slowing down the Windows PCs and how often the solutions trigger false alarms, so-called false positives. All products have received good ratings in these areas as well.
