The cloud-to-cloud backup industry leader Keepit is now represented with a data center in the DACH region. Keepit secures digital assets in the cloud from data loss that could damage business and thus protects companies from serious business disruptions. Thanks to the data center in Frankfurt, German companies maintain data sovereignty.

The Danish company Keepit, founded in 2007, prevents data loss and is now strengthening its own presence in the DACH region with a local data center in order to offer German companies data sovereignty. Keepit is the industry leader for cloud-to-cloud backups of all common SaaS platforms such as Microsoft Office 365, Dynamics 365, Google Workspace and Salesforce and, since April, also Zerto Backup for SaaS. The Keepit architecture runs on a secure, private infrastructure and offers immutability and redundant backup of all company data.

99,9% SLA backup in a certified data center in Frankfurt am Main

To underline its commitment in the strategically important DACH region, Keepit is opening its own data center region in Frankfurt today. As in the Copenhagen, London, Washington and Sidney locations, the data always remains in the data center regions located there, with four backup copies - always available, off-site and vendor-neutral. This ensures that the data from German companies and organizations within EU and German borders remain on Keepit's own hardware, to which only the Danish backup provider has access.

Co-founder and CEO Frederik Schouboe says: “In order to optimize security and uptime, our data center strategy focuses on the local proximity of the data to its source. For our customers in Europe in particular, it is important to know that their data will always remain within EU borders. We are therefore pleased to be able to further strengthen our commitment in the German-speaking market, which is particularly important to us, with a local data center. "

SaaS services ticking time bombs

IT security is more important than ever. The corona pandemic and the associated work from home caused a rapid increase in the use of SaaS platforms in companies, schools and authorities in the past year. Many IT decision-makers are not aware of the fact that they have to ensure adequate data protection in the cloud themselves. One of the most neglected risks is the data stewardship model, which can impact business continuity planning and disaster recovery. A responsibility that companies cannot realize when they discover accidental or malicious data loss too late. The renowned market research company Gartner estimates that by 2022 alone, 70% of companies will suffer serious business disruptions due to irrevocable data loss.

Keepit creates independent backup infrastructure for SaaS data

Only a completely independent infrastructure offers the necessary reliability, since backing up SaaS data in the public cloud is associated with considerable security risks from incorrect use, including malware and hacker attacks. As one of the most popular SaaS products, Microsoft Office 365, for example, only offers a 30-day time window to restore data if it ends up in the digital recycle bin. However, if an attack is also aimed at this recycle bin, for example, or if deletion is not noticed promptly, the data will be irrevocably lost. Protection is therefore essential.

Keepit can help here. The creation of their own dedicated private cloud structure enables customers to use their data continuously and optimally to control costs - thanks to the simple, clear and easily plannable “all-in” price structure. Equipped with convenient indexing and search, Keepit ensures at all times that the company's IT always has a complete overview of all data stocks.
