Tenfold Software GmbH from Vienna, provider of IT security products, published the new version 10.03.2021 R2021 of the tenfold® authorization management solution on March 1, XNUMX. The provider is thus reacting to the increasing use of cloud-based services.

This arises from the need for companies to specifically control access to important data in the cloud. Supported products include Microsoft Teams®, Azure Active Directory® and Exchange Online®.

More than central tools

Central tools from the Microsoft 365® range are already being integrated into tenfold. The basis is the directory service Azure Active Directory®. Based on this, tenfold also supports Microsoft Teams® and Exchange Online®. The medium-term goal is comprehensive cloud integration, as Michael Ugrinovich, Senior Manager Products & Services at tenfold® explains:

“In the next two releases, the focus will continue to be on supporting cloud services. Microsoft 365® is of particular importance here, since almost all companies are already actively using the offer or are planning to use it in the next 12 months. "

Corona pandemic accelerates move to the cloud

tenfold is software for the secure management of IT access in medium-sized companies and authorities. With the help of the software, users can control which employees are allowed to access sensitive data. The switch to home office in the wake of the corona pandemic has exacerbated the need to extend this granular control to cloud services because companies around the world are accelerating their cloud migration.

In many places, data on employees, customers and orders are no longer stored and processed locally, but via servers on the Internet. Other companies rely on so-called hybrid environments and thus use cloud resources and their own data centers.

Integrated control of access rights in the cloud inadequate

With the standard tools of the providers, it has not yet been possible to specifically control in the cloud which employees and external partners can access sensitive data. For the central control of access authorizations in hybrid environments, there are currently no functions available, as the standard tools only record the data that is stored in the cloud.

In version 2021 R1, tenfold clearly shows who can access data and resources in the cloud and in the local data center. tenfold enables the central control and administration of access rights both in the cloud and in hybrid environments. The following version, tenfold 2021 R2, provides for an even deeper cloud integration.
