Secure Internet use in uncertain times: Sunrise protects customers with a security service from Secucloud. More protection against corona malware, phishing and ransomware.

From fraudulent special offers for protective masks to sensational news about supposedly discovered vaccines: In Corona times, cyber criminals sense their big hour. In the worst case, anyone who visits prepared websites or calls up links in spam emails opens the door to their own devices for hackers. In order to enable customers to use the Internet securely, especially in the current situation, Sunrise Communications AG - the largest private telecommunications provider in Switzerland with more than three million customers - relies on Secucloud: The powerful technology of the cloud security specialist from Hamburg makes it possible Telko to provide its customers with a high-performance security service on a subscription basis - and thus secure their customers' internet use, especially in times of corona phishing and malware.

Secucloud security service

“The Secucloud security service has been part of our portfolio for almost three years and is enjoying a steadily growing distribution among our customers: the number of users doubled both in the past year and in the previous year. The solution is offered through all of our sales channels, with the option of testing the service for one month free of charge, ”explains Ina Stoll, Senior Product Manager at Sunrise. “The corona-related threat situation on the Internet has given the service further impetus in recent months. The current crisis is driving the digitization of our living environment more strongly than ever - be it through the shift of our shopping behavior to the online world or the change of numerous employees to the home office. Hackers and cyber criminals take advantage of this. With the Secucloud Security Service, we had the ideal tool at hand at the beginning of the wave of corona-related attacks in spring to provide our customers with comprehensive and reliable protection in this situation too. "

In the course of the pandemic, Sunrise repeatedly received inquiries from customers who were concerned about the security of their data and devices in the context of the rapid increase in spam and phishing messages relating to the pandemic. Together with Secucloud, Telko then started an information campaign that clarified the current dangers and provided information about the protection options offered by the security service.

Powerful security from the cloud

Under the name "Surf protect", the Secucloud security service enables customers to comprehensively protect their devices with just one click - and without installing any software on the end devices. As soon as the service is activated, the websites accessed are automatically checked for harmlessness by the Secucloud security platform. If threats are found, the solution uses a blocking page to warn the user about the risk of visiting the website. The customer can then decide at their own risk whether they want to cancel the process or visit the site anyway.

Sunrise's security portfolio is rounded off by a partner solution from Secucloud implemented in the same backend: With “Sunrise Kids Protect” (based on Kaspersky Safe Kids), parents also receive a child protection function that can be subscribed to, which enables them to allow their children to use the Internet monitor and protect.

Scalability and flexibility

“The so-called 'Elastic Cloud Security System' (ECS2) forms the technical basis for our security service," says Dennis Monner, CEO of Secucloud. “This was implemented directly in the Sunrise infrastructure so that customers of all types of contract - from landline connections to mobile phone contracts - can be universally protected with one and the same solution. Due to its cloud-based nature, our solution is capable of practically unlimited scaling, so that even a high number of users can be handled without any loss of performance. This means that the security service can also be expanded in the future with new security approaches and methods and thus continuously kept up to date with the latest technology.
