The new AI companion for the Security Cloud category is intended to simplify and automate cyberattack response and recovery. Included is Microsoft's Azure OpenAI in combination with its data threat engine based on machine learning.
Artificial intelligence (AI) can help IT and security professionals better respond to cyber incidents. That's why Rubrik, the zero trust data security company, announces the generative AI companion Rubrik Ruby. This is available in the Security Cloud section and is intended to accelerate cyber detection, recovery and resilience.
AI: Azure OpenAI and Data Threat Engine for ML
The company relies on Microsoft's Azure OpenAI combined with its machine learning-based Data Threat Engine to detect, investigate, remediate and report on cyber incidents. The AI companion Ruby expands the Security Cloud category to include generative AI and automation. Ruby supports customers of all experience levels through a guided response process. This enables customers to investigate, understand and respond to a cyber incident with the aim of restoring critical business processes more quickly.

Areas of application
- Detecting anomalous activity in data across enterprise, cloud and SaaS applications: Enabling customers to identify malicious activity and determine the scope of a cyberattack or incident using Rubrik's Data Threat Engine;
- Increase customer satisfaction: The support team can now use the internally developed Sentry AI platform. This platform enables support to proactively and specifically alert you to potential problems before they impact a company's systems.
- Providing world-class security expertisee: Ruby supports customers with a guided, rapid response process that helps them address difficult workflows and accelerate secure recovery from cyber incidents.
In response to data risk alerts generated in Rubrik Security Cloud, users can interact with the Ruby AI assistant to ask follow-up questions. For example, whether sensitive data is affected or what needs to be done to restore the environment. Ruby provides assistance in answering additional questions and helps customers resolve incidents more quickly.
Securing company data
In the age of cloud and AI, data volumes are exploding. At the same time, German IT and security managers faced an average of 2022 cyberattacks in 46, according to Rubrik Zero Labs' latest report on the state of data security. An analysis by logz.io also shows that the average recovery time after a product or system failure in production environments is more than an hour for over 60 percent of companies. This leaves attackers plenty of time to encrypt or exfiltrate data. Recovering an environment from a cyber incident requires extensive forensic investigation to determine the cause - a process that typically requires reviewing countless manuals or engaging a third-party service provider who can guide you through the next steps.

Our goal with Ruby is to close skills gaps and remove the barriers to responding to cyberattacks. Ruby is expected to be available in the coming months to Enterprise Edition subscribers who choose this option. Over time, Ruby will expand to help customers recover from cyberattacks even faster and more effectively.
