The German network infrastructure and security supplier LANCOM Systems is offering a new rackmount firewall. The new top model LANCOM R&S® UF-760 is a powerful all-in-one solution for maximum reliability and the highest level of failsafety in large companies or the public sector such as schools with high data volumes.

It ensures effective network security that combines state-of-the-art cybersecurity technologies such as Unified Threat Management (UTM) with sandboxing and machine learning. The UF-760 will be available from LANCOM retailers from the end of April 2022.

LANCOM is expanding its firewall portfolio with a new top model, the UF-760 (Image: LANCOM).

With the introduction of the UF-760, LANCOM is consistently pushing ahead with the generation change in its next-generation UTM firewalls. Thanks to a completely new hardware design and expanded software functions, the one-box solution achieves a massive leap in performance compared to the previous UF-910 model: UTM throughput has been doubled and VPN throughput has almost quadrupled. Redundant SSD hard drives and power supplies, a new module expansion slot and two 10 GBit/s SFP+ interfaces ensure maximum reliability and the highest level of failsafety. The LANCOM R&S® UF-760 is suitable for medium to large office and school environments, depending on the data volume.

Firewall with operating system LCOS FX 10.7

The new LCOS FX 10.7 operating system significantly upgrades all LANCOM R&S®Unified Firewalls in terms of usability. A complete redesign of the certificate management offers several new functions to save valuable administration work and to make the handling of certificates even easier. In addition, the highlight feature Netmap enables easy and conflict-free network coupling with identical IP areas with just a few clicks. In addition, LCOS FX 10.7 now uses TLS 1.3 throughout for more performance and security.

SSL & Deep Packet Inspection and Machine Learning

The LANCOM R&S® UF-760 counteracts the increasing encryption of data traffic with powerful SSL inspection. The R&S®PACE2 deep packet inspection engine offers protection against highly complex APT cyber attacks. It allows precise classification of network traffic, protocols and applications as well as protection against data leaks and data loss (Data Loss Prevention, DLP) - even at Layer 7 level. To protect against malware and viruses, including zero-day exploits, suspicious files are analyzed in a shielded sandbox using machine learning. The cloud service used for this is hosted in Germany.

Graphical user interface & cloud management

An intuitive graphical user interface provides transparency across all secured areas in the company and simplifies the implementation of company-wide security and compliance requirements. The highest level of reliability is made possible by an HA network (high availability) with redundant hardware. In addition, the LANCOM R&S® UF-760 can be connected to the LANCOM Management Cloud (LMC) via a simple pairing process. This enables clear monitoring including alarms about the device status and remote configuration via the cloud.
