Multidimensional DDoS and traffic analysis in real time

NETSCOUT, a leading provider of cybersecurity, service assurance and business analytics solutions, has introduced Arbor Insight, a new technology that, combined with Arbor Sightline, will dramatically improve threat detection, service delivery and network operator visibility in the evolving threat landscape improved and expanded.

DDoS attack volumes continue to exceed pre-pandemic levels, and the threat surface to defend against is expanding. Network operators of all sizes therefore need full, multi-dimensional visibility into the traffic flowing over their networks in order to optimize their countermeasures. The new combined suite of solutions from Sightline and Insight provides a new level of visibility through the patented Adaptive Service Intelligence (ASI) flow and extends the value of existing Sightline implementations.

Correlates sources with network telemetry

This correlates multiple sources of network telemetry with global intelligence and local configuration to deliver a dataset with over 80 facets for each monitored network communication. Arbor Insight provides security and network operations teams with the optimal datasets for each security and network use case to accomplish critical tasks—including time-series analysis of critical traffic dimensions for in-depth investigations, forensics, and retrospective analysis. By using configurable, optimized datasets, Arbor Insight ensures instant access to meaningful data with minimal storage and compute requirements.

Powerful Advanced Traffic Reports

With new, customizable Advanced Traffic Reports (ATRs), Insight provides flexible, multi-dimensional, time-series analysis of threats and traffic. ATRs extend users' operational workflows with instant n-dimensional visibility into key areas of interest. They also allow for quick breakdowns and sub-filtering to reveal network dynamics such as top attack targets and vectors, top top talkers, services, protocols, historical anomalies and threat signatures, and more.

Once ATRs are defined, they automatically maintain the desired level of accuracy and granularity, enabling immediate response to any query. These features help network operators to optimally design and scale their defense mechanisms. Onboarding new services or service customers is also faster, reducing costs and increasing revenue.
