The security provider G DATA has completely overhauled its mobile device management and thus also ensures more security for smartphones. The field of mobile security in the network is now also available for SMEs - an area that is usually less well protected.

G DATA CyberDefense has fundamentally revised its mobile device management (MDM) solution. With the update, even small companies with five smartphones can now securely manage their devices in the company network with the stand-alone solution, regardless of the endpoint protection chosen.

MDM already from 5 smartphones at SMEs

The MDM solution can be used for mobile devices with both Android and iOS operating systems and is also compatible with all enterprise mobile management systems. MDM is included in all business solutions from G DATA.

With the revised MDM offering from G DATA CyberDefense, the new standalone solution gives IT administrators extensive control over smartphones in the corporate network. Administration is via a simple user interface. New devices can be integrated and administered quickly and easily. Filters for lists or fixed profiles for certain groups also make it easier to manage larger smartphone inventories. Even small companies with five devices or more can use the MDM from one euro per month and smartphone. In the event of suspicious actions, admins receive specific instructions on what to do with the affected devices.

Comprehensive security

Mobile device management from G DATA ensures more security in the company network. If malicious code is found on a smartphone, the module supports administrators with instructions. For example, if a mobile device has been rooted or the SIM card has been changed, the IT manager immediately receives a recommendation to lock or localize the device. In addition, malware or malicious code apps can be deleted directly via remote access. In this way, IT administrators receive the necessary support and know-how to protect company smartphones from unauthorized and dangerous access.

Security functions at a glance

  • Real-time Protection & Antivirus Engine: Web Protection protects all browser activity on Android devices. The virus scan checks all devices unobtrusively in the background and blocks malware of all kinds - even when new apps are installed.
  • Anti-theft protection: In the event that an Android device is lost, IT admins can take various emergency measures. They can find it again by determining its location or delete all existing data remotely.
  • App filter: This allows those responsible to prevent the use of unwanted applications: Thanks to blacklisting and whitelisting, it is easy to determine which apps are blocked or allowed on the devices - in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Central dashboard: As with all other clients, the mobile devices are managed centrally via the clear dashboard. Here the admins always have an eye on the security of all mobile devices and roll out new security settings centrally to the devices.
  • Safe surfing: Web protection blocks dangerous websites that, for example, access critical data such as passwords.
  • Ban rooted devices: With one click, IT admins activate a warning for rooted devices.
  • SIM card protection: Mobile devices can be automatically blocked against unauthorized access if the SIM card is changed.
