McAfee presents current IDC study "Cyber ​​Security in Germany 2020+". The situation in terms of IT security in Germany is still tense.

The growing complexity of IT landscapes, the agility and mass of cyber attacks as well as the increasing compliance requirements are becoming more and more difficult to control with the implemented, but apparently inadequate IT security resources. COVID-19 and the associated migration of countless employees to the home office was and is a further test for the quality of the resistance and responsiveness of companies.

Questions to German IT and specialist decision-makers

In August 2020, IDC surveyed German IT and specialist decision-makers from 210 organizations with more than 100 employees and received detailed insights into implementation plans, challenges and success factors in the field of cyber security.
For example, the study "Cyber ​​Security in Germany 2020+" found that:

4 out of 5 companies (78%) have already recorded specific security incidents.
Of all those surveyed, more than half (63%) feel compelled to make substantial investments.
Skilled workers are a serious hurdle for more IT security in almost every fourth company (23%)

Study including recommendations for action

The authors of the study also give specific recommendations for action and come to the following assessment, among other things: "The digital transformation, new technologies, hybrid and multi-clouds or simply the new forms of cooperation require new thinking and holistic approaches".
