AV-Comparatives publishes long-term antivirus test reports for 19 Endpoint Security Solutions. The English-language comparison report on business and enterprise security endpoint solutions checks the protection performance of the products over a period of 4 months.

The independent, ISO-certified security test laboratory AV-Comparatives has published its Security Test Report for business solutions. It is the most comprehensive comparison report to date of the available business and enterprise endpoint security solutions in the IT security industry.

The threat landscape continues to evolve rapidly and presents new challenges for antivirus providers. The test report shows how security products have adapted to these and how the protection performance has improved over the years.

Long-term test over 4 months

The business and enterprise test report contains the test results for the first half of 2020, including real-world protection, malware protection, performance (speed impact) and false-positive tests. The detailed test methods and results are made available in the report. Endpoint security solutions for companies and SMB from 19 leading manufacturers were tested in the test series: Acronis, Avast, Bitdefender, Cisco, Crowdstrike, Cybereason, Elastic, ESET, Fireeye, Fortinet, G Data, K7, Kaspersky, Microsoft, Panda, Sophos , Sparkcognition, VIPRE, Vmware.

Real World Protection Test

The Real-World Protection Test is a long-term test over four months. It simulates a typical business user and tests how well the endpoint security software can protect the system against threats from the Internet.

Malware Protection Test

The malware protection test tests the endpoint security solutions against malware and viruses that are stored on the company systems, e.g. on the local network or external drives.

Performance Test

The performance test checks whether the protection is at the expense of the system speed.

False positive test

A false positive test is carried out for each protection test. This ensures that the software used to protect against endpoints does not cause a significant number of false positives, which can be particularly disruptive in company networks.

Handling test

The report also includes a detailed review of each product's user interface that provides insight into how it is used in typical day-to-day management scenarios.

Overview of the test

Overall, AV-Comparatives' July 2020 Enterprise and Business Test provides IT managers and CIOs / CISOs with a detailed picture of the strengths and weaknesses of the products being tested so that they can make informed decisions about which of their specific needs might be appropriate.
