Kaspersky presents the new training platform Kaspersky Adaptive Online Training, which was developed in cooperation with Area9 Lyceum, the specialist for adaptive and personalized training.

The new training platform (compared to the Kaspersky Security Awareness Platform developed for SMB customers) is explicitly aimed at companies from the enterprise sector and is freely scalable. Kaspersky Adaptive Online Training enables individual and adaptive training planning. The online training courses can be tailored to the needs and level of knowledge of the employees as well as the needs of the company. The content of the new solution was designed on the basis of Kaspersky's expertise in cybersecurity and using modern and intelligent learning techniques.

Training the security awareness of employees is essential and the basis for equipping them with important information and relevant knowledge to be able to work in a cyber-secure manner. However, many companies have found that certain training courses do not have the desired effect. As shown in Kaspersky's Global Corporate IT Security Risks Survey, over a third (37 percent) of companies have already conducted at least one security training course. However, only 13 percent confirm that they subsequently did not find any IT security problems caused by actions of the employees.

Create sustainable cybersecurity knowledge

People tend to forget what they have learned if the knowledge they have acquired has not been appropriately archived. Participants in a one-hour training course forget 50 to 80 percent of the information given to them. After 30 days, the level of knowledge about what has been conveyed is only two to three percent. However, employees find repeated instruction or repeated training courses to be boring and annoying. In order to support companies in imparting basic knowledge about cybersecurity - without overwhelming employees - Kaspersky presents its new Kaspersky Adaptive Online Training in partnership with the Area9 Lyceum.

Individual learning content through the integration of biological algorithms

Kaspersky Adaptive Online Training develops a specific learning concept for each user, taking into account the employees' existing knowledge and their previous awareness of cybersecurity. The questions asked by Area9 Lyceum's intelligent “biological” algorithms are combined with the content to be conveyed. In this way, both the previous level of knowledge and the trust in one's own knowledge are determined during the learning process. The algorithms optimize the existing knowledge, skip content that the employee already knows and help him master concepts and topics with which he is less familiar. In this way, advanced learners can complete a module in less than 10 minutes and fill existing knowledge gaps, while others can use half an hour to work on unknown or more difficult learning content.

Comprehensive learning portfolio - easy to manage

The learning content includes modules on passwords, email security, web browsing, social networks and messenger services, device security, mobile devices and GDPR topics (which will be available in Q3 2020). This portfolio of skills ensures that employees can use IT resources with minimal cybersecurity risk. All teaching units and tests are based on real attack situations and scenarios.

Kaspersky Adaptive Online Training is easy to manage. The responsible administrator only has to select which modules a group of users has to complete. A link to the corresponding lessons is then automatically sent to them. The solution also provides detailed statistics on the results of the employees and provides an exact picture of the extent to which the level of the learned cybersecurity awareness has changed positively.

Motivation for more cyber security

“As current practice shows, the most difficult task is to motivate employees and teach them all relevant cyber security skills. Because, convinced that they are doing everything right, most people still make mistakes, ”emphasizes Elena Molchanova, Head of Security Awareness Marketing at Kaspersky. “This is known as unconscious incompetence. An adaptive learning methodology enables companies to recognize unconscious knowledge gaps in their employees and to actively close them - without overwhelming them with unnecessary theory. Area9 Lyceum estimates that by using this individual approach to learning, companies can save up to 50 percent of the total time spent on training. "

The cloud-based solution is available in English, German, Spanish, Arabic, French, Italian and Russian. The minimum license is 200 participants.
