Ivanti Acquires RiskSense: Acquisition Helps Customers Proactively Combat Cyber Threats and Ransomware Attacks. RiskSense extends Ivanti Neurons for Patch Intelligence with robust, risk-based functions for prioritizing and eliminating vulnerabilities.

Ivanti, the automation platform that discovers, manages, secures and maintains IT assets from the cloud to the edge, announces the acquisition of RiskSense. RiskSense is a pioneer for risk-based and prioritized vulnerability management. The aim of the takeover is to advance the next evolutionary stage in patch management. The bundling of the competencies of Ivanti and RiskSense enables companies to reduce their attack surface, prioritize vulnerabilities and reduce their vulnerability to cyber threats and ransomware attacks. This is made possible by a proactive, risk-based approach in patch management. Ivanti Neurons for Patch Intelligence customers already have a number of functions available for such risk-based prioritization and elimination of vulnerabilities. These are to be expanded further in the course of the takeover.

Detect and remediate cyber threats faster

Future solutions from the combined companies are expected to reduce the average time it takes to detect, detect, and remediate cyber threats. This will especially help to quickly identify and eliminate vulnerabilities that are already actively being exploited by ransomware. Together, Ivanti and RiskSense will provide security and IT teams with contextual and adaptive insights into how vulnerable their organization is to actively exploited vulnerabilities and whether those vulnerabilities are related to ransomware. At the same time, they are enabled to quickly remediate these threats. The aim is to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of security and IT teams in combating gaps that are actually used by attackers.

Combination of vulnerability detection and patch intelligence

“The combination of risk-based prioritization of vulnerabilities and automated patch intelligence is unique on the market,” Mukkamala continues. “Ivanti and RiskSense bring two powerful databases together. RiskSense has reliable data on vulnerabilities and exploits. We can assign these exploits to ransomware families that develop as ransomware-as-a-service. The same applies to an assignment to nation states that are associated with APT groups. Ivanti, in turn, brings the most reliable data to patches. Together we enable customers to take the right measures at the right time to effectively defend themselves against ransomware. "
