According to a current study by Ivanti, almost half (45%) of all IT specialists had already carried out test runs to support remote employees before the corona pandemic. A total of 41% of the specialist departments that do not belong to IT had also already carried out a remote check in the past.

This preparation pays off! Six out of ten IT pros are confident that they can provide the same level of service from a distance as they do on site, and as many as half say that working remotely has not affected the quality of the user experience. Additionally, the Ivanti study looked at the value of enterprise service management (ESM) tools during the pandemic. ESM is expanding the use of IT service management (ITSM) processes to also address business-centric use cases in departments such as human resources, facilities and customer service. It thus directly supports the productivity of the company.

For the study, 2020 IT professionals were interviewed online in May and June 385. The respondents associate the introduction of ESM in their organization with these positive effects.

"By hyper-automating processes and equipping users with self-service technologies such as chat bots, ESM technology makes a contribution to supporting the requirements for efficiency and user productivity in the new world of remote working", says Ian Aitchison, Senior Director of Product Management, Ivanti.
