Even if the word hacker has negative connotations, the competition "Germany's Best Hacker 2023" is not. The cybersecurity industry is looking for young talent through competitions, where pupils, students or career changers can prove what they can do.

In a few days, the competition Germany's Best Hacker 2023 will start and is looking for the best security experts for tomorrow. In 2020, the first competition started to find the best hackers in the region, to promote them and to guide them in the right direction. Since 2022, this mission has been extended to all of Germany and has become a major player in the field of cyber security. The patron of the competition is the federal CIO Dr. Markus Richter.

It starts on August 02nd, 2023

The challenge begins with the qualifiers, in which the hackers have to prove themselves in three sets in order to qualify for the final challenges. On the weekend from September 29th to October 01st, the winner will be determined among the finalists in a final challenge and awarded the title of Germany's Best Hacker. Of course, there are also top-class prizes – including a trip to the largest hacker conference in Las Vegas. The participants who did not make it into the all-important final round also benefit from great added value: they become part of a permanent community in which hacking fans and professionals can exchange ideas.

The process of Germany's best hacker 2023

It starts in a few days! Anyone can take part - regardless of whether they are pupils, students, security experts or career changers. Important: Late teams can also board later!

  • Start of the first set of our online challenges – August 02, 2023
  • Start of the second set - August 16, 2023
  • Start of the third set - August 30, 2023
  • Final Challenge – September 29th + 30th, 2023 in Dortmund

The tasks are again played in the Jeopardy CTF style - meaning that tasks from different cybersecurity categories are solved one after the other and if passed, a "flag" is ticked off. Even if you only join the last set, you can still solve all challenges from the beginning. All tasks can be solved and submitted until the end of the qualifiers (September 18, 2023).
