A product innovation enables companies to manage both public and private certificates issued by Sectigo and other CAs on a single platform. Sectigo is transforming itself into a CA-independent Certificate Lifecycle Management provider.

Sectigo, a leading global provider of digital certificates and automated Certificate Lifecycle Management (CLM), announces the further development of its most important product, the Sectigo Certificate Manager (SCM). With immediate effect, this will become a universal platform that is able to manage public and private certificates from other leading certification authorities (CAs). This innovation offers companies a completely new, modern approach to securing and managing their digital identities on a large scale. It enables new use cases and also the flexibility to use multiple certification authorities.

All certificates on one cloud platform

Sectigo's new product functions offer customers an easy migration path from outdated on-premises solutions to a modern cloud platform that has been developed for securing and managing the rapidly growing number of digital identities in the company. Customers can now manage their digital identities, which are provided by Sectigo or other CAs, via a central portal.

Sectigo adds Microsoft CA management functions The widespread Microsoft Certificate Authority (MSCA) is the first major third-party provider
CA added to Sectigo's advanced CLM platform. Many more, including publicly trusted CAs, are expected to be activated in early 2022. In the upcoming version, SCM can request, provide and manage every private certificate from Microsoft together with public and private certificates from Sectigo within the SCM management portal. It all happens in the cloud.

Lots of innovations and more security

In addition, Sectigo is adding many more innovations to the SCM that will solve new and anticipated use cases for its corporate customers, including:

  • Passwordless authentication - By using certificates as an alternative solution to conventional password-based authentication, Sectigo's solution offers immediate and more secure login for remote devices and employees and reduces the risk of password theft attacks.
  • Robotic process automation (RPA) - New enhancements for orchestrating digital identities help bots to connect and communicate securely.
  • Advanced automation - As the lifespan of certificates is getting shorter and shorter, companies have to renew them constantly. New automation functions enable the automatic provision, installation and renewal of certificates for all human and machine use cases.
  • Remote Identity Validation - Remotely authenticates employees, customers, partners and suppliers and enables them to securely sign documents from any location and on any device.
