Network appliances can also provide simple and effective protection in small offices and in the home office. Axiomtek's compact, fanless desktop network appliance with 3 GbE LANs does this.

The trend towards more home offices will continue even after the corona pandemic. Many companies, such as Siemens, see clear advantages in terms of the performance and work-life balance of their employees. But data also has to be protected in the home office. After all, 47% of those questioned in a Deloitte survey stated that they wanted to expand their “cyber protection significantly due to increased remote working”.

Secure gateways for small offices

The NA347 comes with 3 Gigabit Ethernet ports and is suitable, for example, as an SD-WAN, VPN and security gateway for smaller offices as well as home offices or for other IoT security applications. The particularly energy-saving and inexpensive NA347 network appliance is based on the Intel® Celeron® processor N3350 (code name: Apollo Lake).

Functional scope of the NA347

The NA347 can be equipped with up to 8GB DDR3L-1866 SO-DIMM non-ECC memory. It also has an M.2 2242 slot for SSD modules. Despite its compact size, the network appliance offers three 10/100/1000 Mbit / s LAN ports based on the Intel® i211 Ethernet controller. A full-size PCI Express mini card slot with PCIe / USB signal and a nano SIM socket, as well as an RS-232 interface, two USB 3.0 ports and an HDMI graphics output are also available. Power is supplied via a screwable low-voltage socket. The network appliance can be operated with Windows 10 or Linux.
