Google and ESET continue to fight online threats together. ESET technology is used in Google Chrome, Google Cleanup and Google Play.

The IT security manufacturer ESET and Google will continue their successful cooperation in combating Internet threats in the future. Millions of Google Chrome users (for Windows) already trust ESET's built-in technology to identify and remove unwanted software.

Few are Google partners

The cooperation between the two companies also includes Chrome Cleanup, an important part of Chrome's Safe Browsing feature. In addition, the European security company provides Google's security analysis platform Chronicle with data that can be used to stop malware immediately. ESET is also one of the handpicked Google partners of the App Defense Alliance. As part of this cooperation, the European IT security manufacturer is providing its comprehensive detection functions for the Android ecosystem in order to further improve security in the Google Play Store.

Chrome Cleanup uses ESET's technology to warn users about unwanted or potentially harmful software that is about to be installed on their computer unnoticed by the user. This is done, for example, by integrating malicious code in download files from legitimate programs or other files from the Internet. Chrome Cleanup works in the background with no visibility or disruption to the user. It will delete the unwanted software and notify the user once the cleanup is successfully completed.

Technology also helps Chrome users

"We're proud to partner with Google to help Chrome users browse the web safely," said Juraj Malcho, ESET's Chief Technology Officer. “The ongoing collaboration with Google and Chrome Cleanup shows how important both companies are to the security of their users. Chrome is the browser of choice for many Windows users. The integration of ESET security technologies therefore offers users significant added value and more security when surfing the Internet.”
