With the new version, TeamDrive brings an optimization for the home office: data is just as safe at home as in the office. New setting for permanent encryption increases security.
According to the provider, the new version 4.7 is the “safest TeamDrive” of all time. The cloud-based sync and share service recommends 2-factor authentication and encrypts locally stored data. These and all other security options can either be set by each individual user or prescribed by the administrator of a company account for all workplaces in the company. “TeamDrive has long relied on 2-factor authentication when installing and using the client software. It is now also possible to make this security level binding every time you log in, ”explains Detlef Schmuck, Managing Director of Hamburg-based TeamDrive GmbH.
2-factor authentication as a fixed option
In addition, the current version offers a new setting so that all local data on the clients is only stored in encrypted form. Only when a file is opened is it decrypted on the end device. In contrast to most providers, the data with TeamDrive is not stored in the file system, but in an independent local cache memory and saved in the cloud, which sets the Hamburg company apart from the competition. The duration of the storage in the cache is freely configurable so that the data is available offline if necessary, for example for working on the go without an internet connection.

He explains: “This is why the security of end devices, especially with PCs and tablets in the home environment, plays a more important role than ever before. The new version ensures that the operational data of employees at home is just as safe from unauthorized access as when working in the office. "

TeamDrive is considered to be "secure sync & share software made in Germany" for storing, synchronizing and sharing data and documents, because it meets the high security requirements in accordance with Section 203 of the Criminal Code for persons with professional confidentiality. The basis is end-to-end encryption that ensures that only the user himself can read the data - neither TeamDrive nor any government agency in the world can decrypt the data.
