More encryption options for data in the Microsoft 365 Cloud: eperi is expanding its eperi for Microsoft 365 product with additional useful tools with Microsoft 365 encryption for Planner and To Do to protect plan names, tasks and files from unauthorized access.

For companies that use Microsoft 365, eperi now also offers functional encryption of Microsoft Planner and Microsoft To Do in the cloud. The new encryption options complement eperi's previous data protection-compliant encryption for Microsoft 365 core applications such as Exchange, SharePoint or OneDrive. With the new function, companies protect, for example, plan names, tasks and files from unauthorized access. This means that sensitive information that is subject to legal protection or is classified as particularly sensitive due to company rules is protected in a controlled manner.

Gateway automatically encrypts data

The patented technology of the eperi Gateway makes it possible to process pseudonymized data outside the boundaries of the data residency without violating the laws of the data residency. By automatically encrypting data before it reaches the cloud, the eperi Gateway enables the legally compliant use of Microsoft 365 while maintaining the functions of applications.

“In addition to the classic core applications of Microsoft 365, an increasing number of our customers use additional tools that are included in the license packages and thus rely on the integrative functionality of the M365 ecosystem. “But this also means that other potentially sensitive data enters the cloud and must therefore be protected from unauthorized access and cyber criminals,” explains Andres Steffen, CEO of eperi. “The expansion of our Microsoft 365 encryption options is based on specific requests from customers who already ensure compliance and data protection guidelines with the eperi Gateway. Reason enough for us to quickly meet this additional market requirement.”

Particularly easy migration

For companies that already use the eperi encryption gateway, additional encryption for Planner and To Do is very easy. The encryption of other applications can be activated quickly and without any further effort in the Microsoft 365 adapter of the existing gateway.

Companies that want to rely on secure encryption of their data in the cloud in the future can install the eperi gateway flexibly and quickly as a proxy in the network. With little effort and preconfigured adapters, for example for Microsoft Teams, Microsoft 365, OneDrive, HubSpot or a wide variety of web applications, data protection-compliant encryption is quickly ready for use for any type of cloud.
