89 percent of employees in companies need cyber security training. Approximately one in three employees cannot demonstrate sufficient knowledge of how to deal with everyday cyber security-related topics. These results come from recent analysis of the Kaspersky Gamified Assessment Tool.

Many types of cyberattacks start with employee misconduct, whether it's opening an infected attachment, clicking a malicious link, or using weak passwords. Kaspersky Gamified Assessment Tool is designed to change and strengthen employee behavior and awareness of cybersecurity. At the same time, it aims to support CIOs and HR departments in companies in measuring the cybersecurity awareness of employees in daily situations and in providing their teams with a corresponding training environment.

Only 1 out of 10 test clicks was correct

Only a tenth (11 percent) of the test participants selected the correct answers in the given situations and achieved over 90 percent of the possible points, earning them the Certificate of Excellence. Most users (61 percent) achieved an "average" result between 82 percent and 90 percent of the points. However, almost a third (28 percent) of the participants scored less than 75 percent of the possible points and therefore have insufficient cybersecurity knowledge.

"Playfully" to more security in the company

The Gamified Assessment Tool covers six areas: Passwords and Accounts, Email, Web Browsing, Social Networking and Messenger, PC Security and Mobile Devices. When surfing the Internet, users seem to have the most difficulties - only 24 percent gave the correct answers. Scenarios related to mobile devices were the least complex for participants, with 43 percent answering the cyber risk identification answers correctly in the given situations.
