EDR for medium-sized companies: Kaspersky Endpoint Security Cloud now with extended functions. The Kaspersky Endpoint Security Cloud solution now includes endpoint detection and response (EDR) functions tailored to small and medium-sized businesses.

IT administrators in companies of this size now have a comprehensive overview of affected endpoints and the chain of attacks. This enables them to analyze the parameters of the incident and the causes of the compromise in order to then take proactive measures that strengthen the protection of the entire company.

Protection against cyber risks is for SMBs

Reliable protection against cyber risks is essential for small and medium-sized companies in order to protect their work, data and finances. According to a recent Kaspersky study, however, smaller companies in particular often lack an overview of the prevailing threat situation and the consequences for their IT environment; 40 percent rate this as one of the greatest challenges. Details via EDR about an attack, affected users and the entry point can - in addition to automated protection on all endpoints - help to improve security practices.

The new version of Kaspersky Endpoint Security now has endpoint detection and response functions, with which IT managers can determine the propagation paths of attacks, details on affected computers (operating system versions and users), names and hashes of infected files and creation , Change and start parameters can be visualized. All information is displayed in the online management console of the Kaspersky solution.

Clear online administration console

If administrators know how an endpoint was attacked, they can adapt the security guidelines accordingly and take additional protection and awareness-raising measures if necessary - for example, if malware has gotten onto an employee's laptop via a phishing email camouflaged as a graphic file. The next step can then be to update the anti-phishing settings, make changes to the security profiles for users who work with sensitive information, and identify the need for additional cybersecurity training.

Update with added value for companies

“This EDR update is of particular value for small and medium-sized businesses. It helps IT managers improve their cybersecurity knowledge and acquire basic incident investigation skills,” comments Andrey Dankevich, Senior Product Marketing Manager, B2B Product Marketing Kaspersky. “You can learn more about the different types of threats out there in one simple and visual tool, and prepare to work with more complex security challenges and solutions.”
