A leading provider of zero-trust and zero-knowledge solutions for protecting credentials, privileged access and remote connections, releases key findings from its latest study on current cybersecurity developments.

The global survey of more than 800 IT security leaders found that the vast majority (95 percent) believe cyberattacks are now more sophisticated than ever before. AI-powered attacks are the most serious and phishing attacks are widely believed to be the fastest growing. Looking ahead to 2024, the cybersecurity landscape presents a mix of frightening factors, with emerging AI threats looming large. The ever-changing situation highlights the need to establish cybersecurity strategies that can skillfully address both existing and emerging threats.

Most important attack vectors

1. AI-powered attacks
2. Deepfake technology
3. Supply Chain Attacks
4. Cloud jacking
5. Attacks on the Internet of Things (IoT)

Biggest increase

1 Phishing
2.Malware
3. Ransomware
4. Password attacks
5. Denial of Service (DoS)

“As new technologies like AI fuel the next wave of cyber threats, the paradox is that the very innovations implemented to protect are actually increasing cyber risk if not properly controlled,” said Darren Guccione, CEO and co-founder from Keeper Security. “With the cybersecurity tools available today, we have the capabilities we need to mitigate emerging threats. This enables us to transform this challenge into an opportunity for greater resilience and strength of digital defenses.”

Multi-layered security approach

As technology continually advances, new threats require constant adaptation. This should remain a top priority for IT leaders. A password manager, for example, can minimize risks by enforcing secure password practices. Privileged Access Management protects an organization's vital resources by controlling and monitoring high-level access, strengthening defenses and minimizing potential damage in the event of a cyberattack. Integrating such solutions creates a layered security approach that limits unauthorized access and strengthens overall cybersecurity resilience.
