Companies: Protection against fake accounts

Protection against fake accounts

Fake accounts massively damage the reputation of companies. Last year there were over 500 million hits on fake social media pages. Companies should definitely take an insight into their digital footprint.

The latest version of Kaspersky Digital Footprint Intelligence gives companies even stronger protection against reputation-damaging, fake accounts on social networks as well as fake apps in the AppStore and GooglePlay. Kaspersky Digital Footprint Intelligence is part of the Kaspersky Threat Intelligence portfolio.

Cybercriminals imitate well-known companies

Kaspersky experts identified over half a billion attempts to access fake websites last year. To do this, cybercriminals pose as well-known companies by imitating their profiles on social networks and online marketplaces. For example, they sell counterfeit goods or pose as customer support representatives. The aim is to obtain sensitive data or lead users to malicious websites. Cybercriminals also like to pose as well-known company decision-makers for disinformation campaigns or advanced phishing campaigns. Companies should therefore pay more attention to protecting their reputation.

Optimized protection against fake accounts

Kaspersky Digital Footprint Intelligence is a threat intelligence service that provides companies with insights into their digital footprint, allowing them to identify potential security risks and vulnerabilities. The new version of Kaspersky Digital Footprint Intelligence can now identify, monitor and remove fake accounts on Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram and Twitter. The same applies to fake applications in the AppStore and GooglePlay.

Kaspersky Digital Footprint Intelligence monitors public online sources and informs companies in detail about possible malicious activities. This allows them to identify and eliminate threats before their brand, online customers and ultimately sales are damaged. Since this year, the service also has a real-time warning about targeted phishing activities. This allows you to monitor phishing websites that target the brand, online services or protected trademarks.
