EDR module now also available on-premises to mitigate ransomware attacks

Bitdefender is now offering an additional function in its GravityZone platform with Human Risk Analytics. The innovative addition has security risks from the human factor in view. Human Risk Analytics analyzes the actions and behavior of users in order to identify vulnerabilities. In addition, GravityZone receives an additional level to mitigate the consequences of ransomeware attacks.

People are the most valuable resource for organizations and at the same time they are often the weakest link in the security chain. It is human to make mistakes and that makes companies vulnerable. The current global corona pandemic has once again shown how cleverly cyber criminals use acute fears and people's urgent need for information to launch attacks on digital ecosystems.

The GravityZone Suite offers prevention, detection and response from a single source. Using a single software client, administrators have a central overview of all physical and virtual end devices in just one console. You get all the information about suspicious activity and the ability to solve problems with one click. The new Human Risk Analytics function analyzes user actions and identifies behaviors that pose a security risk to the organization or to the user himself. This improves the Risk Analytics Engine and gives a more comprehensive overview of the actual security situation of an organization. The risk assessments enable security administrators to identify systems and users with higher risk exposure and to take precise measures to reduce the risk. So you don't have to impose restrictions on the entire environment.

New level to mitigate ransomware attacks

In the area of security controls, GravityZone has also been reinforced with a module to mitigate the consequences of ransomware attacks. The module acts as an additional layer within the multi-layered protection provided by GravityZone. It helps customers mitigate the effects of sophisticated ransomware attacks through real-time file backups.

EDR module now also on-premises

Another innovation, important for many customers in German-speaking countries: the previously purely cloud-based module for Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) is now also available in an on-premises version. In this way, GravityZone EDR can also support companies with the highest security requirements, for which no cloud solution is possible due to regulations.

"With the latest additions, GravityZone has developed into a platform that has a complete view of the entire cyberspace in organizations," said Andrei Pisau, Senior Director of Product Management for Bitdefender Enterprise Solutions. "We give companies the tools to understand risks precisely and to stop sophisticated threats at all levels, whether at the endpoint, in the network, in the cloud or at the human user."
