The security requirements for mobile devices for use in the corporate sector are constantly increasing. How good their effectiveness is against current threats without compromising device performance, AV-TEST analyzed 3 security apps especially for use in the corporate sector.

AV-TEST has examined 3 security products for Android especially for companies. The latest publicly available versions of the products were always used for the test. They could update themselves online at any time and use their “in-the-cloud” services. AV-TEST only considered realistic test scenarios and checked the products against current threats. The products had to prove their capabilities using all functions and protection levels.

Android apps for endpoints in the test

The endpoint Android apps are also being tested by AV-TEST

  • 17,5 out of 18 points: ESET Endpoint Security Version 2.11
  • 17,5 out of 18 points: Sophos Intercept X for Mobile version 9.6
  • 11 out of 18 points: Google Play Protect (standard protection on Android devices)

All products can achieve a maximum of 6 points in each of the three categories of protection, speed and usability. So 18 points are the best possible test result. With 10 points or more, a product is awarded the AV-TEST seal of quality. However, at least 10 point must be achieved for these 1 points in one of the three categories. This was not the case with Google Play Protect, so there is no security certificate.
