A new product leverages insights from more than 10 million trained users worldwide to identify, block and remove phishing emails before they reach users' inboxes.

KnowBe4, the provider of the world's largest security awareness training and simulated phishing platform, announces the launch of its newest product, PhishER Plus. The tool leverages insights based on data from the world's largest group of users trained to recognize and report real phishing attacks. The product also powers a new global threat feed from KnowBe4. The triple-checked phishing threat feed automatically blocks phishing attacks before they reach users' inboxes.

Most popular attack vector

Phishing remains the most popular cyberattack vector and one of the most common methods to carry out malicious attacks on companies around the world. According to Armorblox, 2022% of phishing attacks in 78 used sophisticated techniques to successfully bypass native email security tools. Additionally, 56% of all attacks in 2022 were bypassed through traditional security filters. This is particularly concerning because nearly one in three users click on a suspicious link or comply with a fraudulent request, according to the KnowBe4 Phishing by Industry Benchmarking Report 2023.

PhishER Plus is a very powerful tool that helps organizations strengthen their email security defenses and acts as an additional final layer after existing secure email gateways (SEGs) and other cybersecurity layers fail. The new product is an updated version of KnowBe4's existing PhishER product with two new, exclusive features, including Global Blocklist and Global PhishRIP, integrated into Microsoft 365.

Global blocklist

The PhishER Plus Global Blocklist is compiled from validated threats collected by over ten million trained KnowBe4 users. Once an entry on the block list is flagged as a threat, the list automatically blocks new messages from the user's inbox. The Global PhishRIP feature identifies and isolates confirmed phishing threats reported by PhishER customers. Global PhishRIP can be used to remove email threats before they are discovered or reported within an organization; it can stop active phishing attacks and preemptively remove new phishing attacks from users' inboxes.

“PhishER Plus can revolutionize the way an organization combats the threat of phishing emails,” said Stu Sjouwerman, CEO of KnowBe4. “PhishER Plus and its exclusive features – the Global Blocklist and Global PhishRIP – are critical to preempting new and existing malicious threats that attempt to bypass traditional security filters and infiltrate an organization. This new product leverages three levels of human and AI-based validation and analysis to identify and eliminate the variety of threats on the market today. PhishER Plus is key to helping organizations strengthen their email security defenses, promote secure online practices and strengthen security culture.”
