Bitdefender's new managed detection and response service MDR Foundations promises improved detection and mitigation of attacks through 24×7 monitoring and proactive threat hunting by experts.

Bitdefender is expanding its Managed Detection and Response (MDR) offering with the new MDR Foundations service. The new service, which can be booked on a monthly basis and is customizable according to user needs, offers guided and fully managed detection and mitigation of attacks by human security experts. Thanks to the offering, Managed Security Providers (MSPs), Value Added Resellers (VADs) and their customers, who only have limited internal resources and skills, can monitor and defend against threats around the clock.

Intelligent Threat Hunting

Users benefit from intelligent threat hunting and the competence of excellent security experts. MSPs and their customers draw on their expertise to identify and eliminate threats more quickly, reduce the time attackers spend online and centrally control cyber defense measures.

Bitdefender MDR Foundations extends the offering of Bitdefender MDR Premium and Bitdefender MDR Enterprise. The service is based on the unified security platform GravityZone Business Security Enterprise. This platform evaluates risks and hardens the IT preventively. In addition, GravityZone Business Security Enterprise includes Bitdefender Endpoint Detection and Response EDR and Bitdefender XDR, which correlates security information from different sources thanks to sensors beyond the individual endpoints.

MDR Foundations offers the following benefits:

  • Recognizing, monitoring and defending against threats around the clock (24×7): MDR Foundations helps users to preventively strengthen the defenses of IT environments. In addition, the service continuously monitors attacks such as ransomware, zero-day attacks or phishing attacks across endpoints, networks and cloud environments. Bitdefender Security Operations Center (SOC) highly qualified experts take a leading role to prioritize alerts, analyze threats and recommend and implement countermeasures.
  • Proactive, expert-led threat hunting: Threat hunters actively seek out and remediate Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs) that reside silently in systems. They also investigate anomalous behavior from internal and external sources (from users and applications). They take into account risks that arise from industry-standard technologies or that are highly likely to occur. For threat hunting and as a basis for well-founded defense decisions, the service uses threat intelligence from Bitdefender Labs and information from the global Bitdefender network with several million sensors. The experts benefit from their expertise and knowledge of complex attack technologies and defense options as well as from their personal background in military defense and law enforcement.

  • Improved countermeasures: Thanks to MDR Foundations, MSPs or their customers can work directly with security analysts and better identify and counteract threats. The interaction takes place via a dedicated MDR portal. Customers can communicate directly with their team of experts XNUMX/XNUMX, view alarms and manage endpoints. They can also carry out recommended countermeasures or eliminate threats via a central dashboard. Companies benefit from targeted alerts, can meet compliance and data protection requirements and quickly implement IT security processes.
  • Easy service launch and management: Onboarding new customers into MDR Foundations is automated and seamless within a day. Meanwhile, most business processes continue to run unhindered in the background. At the same time, the service connects and manages multiple customers.
