Better secure container development

Share post

A cybersecurity solutions provider has expanded its portfolio with a product that protects all phases of container development.

With Kaspersky Container Security, the cybersecurity expert is expanding its offering to include a comprehensive security solution for containerized environments. It protects containerized applications at all times - from development to deployment. The solution is ready for use immediately after installation, is cost-effective and can be easily integrated into a company's IT infrastructure.

Containerization accelerates development

Containerization makes it possible to build and deploy sophisticated applications faster. The main advantage: their autonomy. The container contains everything needed to develop and deploy an application (microservice) - the binary code, linked configuration files, libraries and shortcuts. This makes containerized applications portable, highly reliable, and able to be run by distributed teams. Protecting these is becoming increasingly important.

Kaspersky Container Security is a dedicated solution for containerized environments designed to protect organizations that already use or plan to use containers. The solution protects all stages in the development of the containerized application. In addition to the development process, it also protects the runtime, for example by allowing only trusted containers to be started, controlling the operation of applications and services within the containers and monitoring data traffic.

Scanners, agents and servers protect the entire development process

Kaspersky Container Security consists of three main components:

  • The KCS Scanner checks the configuration files for malfunctions and scans images for vulnerabilities, malware and sensitive data. He also checks them for compliance with guidelines within the image registry and CI/CD platforms.
  • The KSC Agent ensures protection against various attacks on the application in the container, monitors the interaction of containers and networks in clusters and checks the entire system for compliance with security standards.
  • The KSC Server aggregates the data received from the scanner and agents, allows customers to visualize their data and create reports, and interacts with other security solutions, including SIEMs such as the Kaspersky Unified Monitoring and Analysis Platform.

Kaspersky Container Security integrates with existing enterprise DevSecOps frameworks and CI/CD pipelines and infrastructures, strengthening DevOps protection. By automating security and compliance checks at all stages, it also makes it possible to set predictable deadlines for releasing the application.
