AI-supported cyber defense via cloud platform

The new cloud platform “Commvault Cloud” combines data security and AI-supported defense against cyber risks. It integrates the Microsoft Azur OpenAI service. A new cleanroom recovery service makes it possible to recover data reliably and without any remnants of malware attacks.

Commvault has announced its new AI-powered cloud platform “Commvault Cloud”. Commvault Cloud unifies all of the company's SaaS and software offerings into one platform that enables IT leaders to manage data visibility and control in a holistic, centralized manner.

Designed specifically for cyber resilience, the new platform enables users to predict risks faster, ensure clean recovery free of attack remnants, and reduce threat response times - all while maintaining the lowest possible total cost of ownership. Thanks to the special architecture of the Commvault Cloud, companies can back up and restore their data. This is possible for any workload, any infrastructure and from any location.

AI co-pilot Arlie: Advancing cyber resilience and data intelligence

With Commvault Cloud, users have access to Arlie – short for “Autonomous Resilience” – a new AI co-pilot that is available XNUMX/XNUMX and can respond to requests in simple, clear language.

Arlie will work with generative AI models that not only consolidate information and reports, but also provide users with customized and actionable answers. For example, the AI-based assistant can verify or validate a clean restore point for critical systems or generate requested code in seconds. Arlie is integrated with Azure OpenAI on the backend.

New AI-powered features include:

Active Insights: Users receive real-time threat analysis and summary reports with the latest information on the state of their cyber resilience to easily prioritize the most urgent alerts.

Code assistance: Provides a no-code methodology to create an integration or code an action: users simply describe what they want to do and the code wizard immediately generates the code.

Custom Walk Throughs: With this function, the assistant guides users in a context-dependent manner to set up, customize and optimize Commvault Cloud according to their wishes. Users can easily ask questions in human language about desired processes. You will receive step-by-step documentation with commented screenshots.

Root cause remediation: Commvault Cloud performance is constantly monitored using generative AI to identify issues. The Commvault Cloud also recommends measures for optimized cyber resilience to users in real time.

Real-time threat analysis and data recovery

Commvault is also announcing additional AI and security features embedded directly into Commvault Cloud, providing intelligent insights into daily workflows. These include:

Advanced Threat Prediction: Predictive, real-time threat analysis. The solution detects artificial intelligence-based ransomware attacks: It can detect shape-shifting malware before it affects data backups and the ability to simply restore data.

Cloudburst Recovery: Improves business continuity through infrastructure-as-code. It scales in the cloud to restore data to any location quickly, seamlessly and automatically. Users benefit from exceptional portability as well as low total cost of ownership (TCO) as a result of accelerated processes.

Secure cleanroom recovery in the Commvault Cloud and Microsoft Azure

After a cyber attack, a backup that is completely clean of malware infections is just as crucial as an equally clean location to safely restore data. This is why Commvault announces Cleanroom Recovery. In collaboration with Microsoft Azure, Commvault Cloud customers can use this service to restore data quickly, smoothly and reliably in a clean room in the cloud. This offering is particularly suitable for customers who want to routinely perform incident response testing.

“Achieving enterprise-grade cyber resilience is more than building higher walls or deeper moats. It requires a new approach that looks holistically across the entire landscape, from best-in-class data protection and security to AI-powered data intelligence and very fast recovery,” said Sanjay Mirchandani, President and CEO of Commvault. “With these advanced capabilities and a rich and growing partner ecosystem, our unique and consolidated platform is the new standard for cyber resilience.”

Complete managed service “Platinum Resilience”

Commvault is also introducing Platinum Resilience, a fully managed service that provides the best possible protection and response to cyber threats and disasters. This service, scheduled for full availability in early calendar year 2024, offers the following:

Comprehensive functionalities for secure and reliable backup and recovery: Enterprise-level backup and recovery, advanced AI-driven automation, cyber deception, recovery testing and readiness testing, advanced reporting, security audits, custom telemetry and much more.

A dedicated, secured and isolated management layer for powerful and comprehensive hybrid data protection and resiliency with the ease of use of the cloud.

A 24/7 ransomware preparedness and response team to optimally design all necessary processes - from implementation to ongoing testing and validation to recovery from a security incident.

Commvault delivers Platinum Resilience with the Commvault Protection Warranty. This guarantee provides everyone from IT managers to board members the peace of mind of guaranteed recovery from an attack.

New opportunities for customers on the Oracle Marketplace

Commvault announced that customers will be able to access the power of Commvault Cloud through customized offerings directly through the Oracle Cloud Marketplace. Through this integration, customers can now procure and deploy tested Commvault offerings directly there. Commvault Cloud is also available on Microsoft Azure Marketplace, Google Cloud Marketplace, and Salesforce AppExchange.

Availability

The following offerings are expected to be generally available by the end of the calendar year together with the next software release from Commvault: Unified management with Commvault's software-as-a-service offering and the software offerings on a platform with Commvault Cloud , Commvault's AI co-pilot Arlie, Active Insights, Code Assistance, Custom Walk-Throughs, Root Cause Remediation, Advanced Threat Prediction, Cloudburst Recovery and the Cleanroom Recovery service.
