McAfee publishes a survey by IDG Research Services: 41% of companies in Germany consider cyber risks to be the greatest business risk

IDG Research Services published its cyber security study at the end of 2020 and describes, among other things, current threats, business risks and challenges, the trend towards AI and the desire for open solutions in IT security.

Results of the study

  • 6 out of 10 companies are insured against cyber crime - but almost one in five does not know what exactly is insured
  • 54% of the large (but “only” 38% of the small) companies have already suffered damage from cyber crime
  • 84% of companies have a digitization strategy - but only 81% also have an IT security strategy.

In addition to a lot of current data, the study also provides informative conclusions - particularly striking: "Cyber security suffers from inconsistencies and misunderstandings." McAfee addresses the challenges mentioned in the study with its cloud-native, information-controlled and open MVISION platform. It offers companies in the process of transformation a comprehensive security approach from the end device to the network to the cloud. A summary of the results is available online.
