WatchGuard: Cloud platform receives endpoint security functionalities

Share post

WatchGuard is expanding its cloud platform with additional endpoint security functionalities. Patch management, encryption and other features relevant to device protection are now integrated in the WatchGuard Cloud

WatchGuard Technologies is massively promoting the vision of establishing a central IT security platform. Four more endpoint security service modules have just been integrated into WatchGuard Cloud. Now the functions "WatchGuard Patch Management", "WatchGuard Full Encryption", "WatchGuard Advanced Reporting Tool (ART)" and "WatchGuard Data Control" are also available to users and partners in this way. The IT security specialist thus offers customers and partners central access for far-reaching security solutions, ranging from comprehensive endpoint protection to network security and multi-factor authentication to secure WLAN.

MSPs want a Unified Security Platform

WatchGuard is particularly focused on the needs of Managed Service Providers (MSP), as Andrew Young, Senior Vice President of Product Management at WatchGuard, emphasizes: “With our Unified Security Platform, we are providing MSPs in particular with a comprehensive set of modern security services to protect businesses of all sizes. Each additional integration into WatchGuard Cloud - such as the current addition of the new modules for endpoint security - gives partners and customers the opportunity to implement holistic security concepts without friction losses. MSPs in particular benefit significantly in day-to-day business from the central and uniform administration of a wide variety of IT security solutions as well as the additional cross- and upselling opportunities from which everyone can only benefit. Partners are able to effectively set up their IT security services and score points with the customer with increased, tailor-made protection, which can also be flexibly and easily adapted to new requirements.”

By bringing the entire WatchGuard portfolio together in WatchGuard Cloud, WatchGuard supports the practice of professional service delivery. The most recent integration of the modules for Endpoint Security into the centralized management level of the Unified Security Platform further simplifies the provision and control of modern security features for MSPs. The improved interaction of all service modules for Endpoint Security - WatchGuard EPP (Endpoint Protection Platform), WatchGuard EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response) and WatchGuard EPDR (Endpoint Protection Detection and Response) were already integrated - results in even more complete protection with a high level of protection operational efficiency.

  • WatchGuard Patch Managementassists in managing vulnerabilities in operating systems and hundreds of third-party applications on Windows workstations and servers. This not only reduces the area of attack. Preventive measures can be implemented better and incidents contained more quickly. Available as an add-on for WatchGuard EPDR, EDR and EPP.
  • WatchGuard Full Encryption enables central control and administration with regard to the encryption of hard disks and USB drives as well as key recovery using BitLocker in Windows systems. Available as an add-on for WatchGuard EPDR, EDR and EPP.
  • WatchGuard Advanced Reporting Tool (ART) provides detailed information about the day-to-day operation of applications and networks as well as about the users. This includes predefined queries, dashboards, and endpoint alerts. In addition, administrators can create specific queries and warnings based on the telemetry data for end devices. Available as an add-on for WatchGuard EPDR and EDR.
  • WatchGuard Data Control * is used to detect, check and monitor a wide variety of unstructured, sensitive or personal data on end devices. Last but not least, this includes custom real-time searches to find files within a specific context. Available as an add-on for WatchGuard EPDR and EDR. (* currently available in Spain, Germany, Great Britain, Sweden, France, Italy, Portugal, Holland, Finland, Denmark, Switzerland, Norway, Austria, Belgium, Hungary and Ireland).

WatchGuard Cloud thus offers comprehensive "Protection, Detection and Response" functionalities for networks with tens of thousands of end devices - including expansion options for threat hunting and zero trust application services. All these options are available via a central interface. In combination with additional tools such as RapidDeploy and FlexPay, the WatchGuard Unified Security Platform enables solution providers to react quickly and flexibly to new needs and changing customer requirements at all times - a crucial aspect in order to stay ahead of the competition.
