Looking for the best cyber startup in the DACH region: The application phase for the UP21 @ it-sa Award has started. Startups from Germany, Austria and Switzerland can now submit their applications at www.itsa365.de/up21. The application deadline is June 20, 2021.

The most important award for cyber security startups from the DACH region is entering a new round. The UP21 @ it-sa offers young companies the chance to prove themselves in speed pitches in front of a specialist audience, experts and investors, and to convince them. The start-ups receive more visibility and support in accelerating their business development through networking with the cybersecurity community as well as potential customers, partners and investors.

The most important award for cyber security startups

Startups from Germany, Austria and Switzerland can now submit their applications at www.itsa365.de/up21. The prerequisite for participation in the award and the associated CyberEconomy Match-Up for startups, makers and decision-makers is that the participating startups were founded no more than five years ago and they deal with the topics of IT security or data protection. An expert jury selects the ten most promising candidates from the submissions, who are allowed to face the public's decision in an online pitch event and voting. In addition to experts from the IT security cluster, ATHENE / Fraunhofer SITs and the media partner Computerwoche, the specialist jury also includes representatives from Infinigate and the industry association Bitkom for the first time this year.

In a virtual match-up, the startups network with Europe's cybersecurity industries and establish valuable business contacts.

The application deadline is June 20, 2021

Individual coaching for the winner

In addition to the award, the winner can look forward to individual 5-day coaching tailored to the requirements of a startup. The startup can also look forward to special conditions for participating in the startup area at it-sa 2022. The total value of the prize is 10.000 euros.

Participation paid off in the long term for last year's winner asvin: "The UP20@it-sa Award is a special distinction and recognition for asvin. The award has attracted international attention and has an impact far beyond the German-speaking world. The UP20@it-sa sent a positive signal to customers, partners and investors: asvin is one of the best cybersecurity startups in DACH! To all startups: Apply!” says Mirko Ross, Managing Director of asvin GmbH, winner of the UP20@it-sa. The Startup Award UP@it-sa is an initiative of the Digital Hub Cybersecurity, the IT security cluster and the it-sa Home of IT Security. Information on the application process and the expert jury for UP21@it-sa can be found online.
