Barracuda extends its cloud-native SASE platform to protect hybrid cloud environments. Offer now also available for industrial IIoT environments. New capabilities for hybrid cloud deployments and IIoT environments.

Barracuda Networks announces the expansion of its cloud-native SASE platform. The security specialist's SASE platform optimizes the Secure SD-WAN, Firewall-as-a-Service, Zero Trust Network Access and Secure Web Gateway functions. The enhancements include new capabilities for hybrid cloud deployments and IIoT environments. In addition, other technology integrations from various partners offer secure data transmission, orchestration, asset management and anomaly detection.

CloudGen WAN, Barracuda's Secure SD-WAN service

As part of the Barracuda SASE platform, CloudGen WAN, Barracuda's Secure SD-WAN service and Firewall-as-a-Service now allow Private Service Edge for hybrid deployments. Private Service Edge is recommended for organizations that need to meet specific geopolitical requirements or need full control over the data plane. Private service edge appliances offer the same level of security and networking features as the cloud service. Administration is via a central management platform.

Barracuda CloudGen WAN now also supports Secure Connector Virtual Appliances. The updates provide highly scalable Internet of Things connectivity, cloud and private service edge-based security for IIoT endpoints. The virtual Secure Connector endpoint agent can be used in Docker environments for a wide range of third-party IIoT solutions.
Another component of Barracuda's SASE platform, Barracuda CloudGen Access (Zero Trust Network Access) is now available with a turnkey proxy for easy deployment and a Cloud User Directory Connector for easy user and group synchronization.

Automated incident response

To support the specific challenges and requirements of digitization and the Internet of Things, Barracuda works with specialized technology partners, including FireMon, SkyBox, TTTech and Nozomi. These integrations enable secure data transmission, automated incident response, and alignment with the latest IIoT security standards.

"The extension of Barracuda's cloud-native SASE platform for hybrid deployment models and IIoT environments solves a number of common security, connectivity and scalability challenges faced by organizations in the age of digital transformation," said Klaus Gheri, General Manager Network Security at Barracuda. "Today's announcement underscores Barracuda's commitment to working with specialist technology partners to develop customized solutions, integrating advanced technologies and thereby expanding our cloud-first offerings."
