Rockwell Automation relies on Cisco Cyber Vision for threat detection services. Rockwell Automation and Cisco connect IT and OT teams to fight the fast-growing threats to industrial cybersecurity.

The long-standing cooperation between Rockwell Automation and Cisco will be expanded and our customers will benefit. Effective immediately, Rockwell Automation offers the Cyber Vision solution from Cisco in the existing portfolio of LifecycleIQ services for the detection of cyber threats.

Long-term partnership as the basis

The partnership between the two companies has now existed for over a decade. We recognized early on that information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) were growing together. This convergence is essential for digital transformation, but it also brings challenges such as silo-like networks, cyber threats, skills shortages and a wide variety of production data and solutions. The leading companies in their respective industries have jointly developed architectures, services and products that support companies in mastering these challenges on the way to a connected enterprise.

Facilitated digital transformation

This deeper integration of IT, cloud and industrial networks creates security problems that make digital transformation more difficult. Cyber Vision ensures comprehensive transparency in industrial control systems through which secure infrastructures can be set up and security guidelines implemented. Continuity, resilience and the security of industrial processes are thus preserved. Thanks to its unique switch architecture, Cyber Vision in LifecycleIQ-Services detects threats for customers with existing Cisco or Greenfield Networks solutions and for customers who are upgrading their Cisco network infrastructure.

The new offering, which enables customers to address industrial networking and security challenges, is the result of the close collaboration between Rockwell Automation and Cisco. This includes jointly developed - and freely available - Converged Plantwide Ethernet Architectures (CPwE) with drafts for the development and provision of scalable, secure industrial networks as well as the jointly developed Allen-Bradley Stratix Managed Switches, which enable a secure infrastructure for harsh environments.
