With additional certificates and new products, Rockwell Automation ensures more cybersecurity. The new certificates and the expanded product line protect industrial companies and their customer data.

More and more manufacturing companies are networking their production and IT systems. At the same time, they also have to deal with cyber threats that can attack industrial control systems. Many companies still need support to secure their production. Rockwell Automation covers this need with extended cybersecurity certificates and the integration of advanced security features in more and more products.

Cybersecurity Standard 62443-3-3

Rockwell Automation recently received IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) cybersecurity standard 62443-3-3 certification. The certification carried out by TÜV Rheinland means that Rockwell Automation has a proven track record of installing and configuring production systems to meet the level 1 safety requirements defined in the world's leading standard.

Rockwell Automation offers reference architectures to assist customers with installation. An example of such a certified production system is PlantPAx 5.0, the distributed control system (DCS) for plant-wide process control. The architectures help customers certify production systems while minimizing the need to acquire new technologies as part of the process. To date, Rockwell Automation has received multiple certifications for the IEC 62443 series of standards.

Certificate for the ISO standard 27001

Rockwell Automation has also received the certificate for the ISO standard 27001. It confirms that Rockwell Automation operates an information security and data protection system that meets the requirements of the ISO standard. This gives customers the assurance that Rockwell Automation is using best practices to protect intellectual property. This is particularly important when customers use services such as remote maintenance and monitoring.

In addition to the new certificates, Rockwell Automation is also launching new products with CIP security, i.e. cybersecurity network extensions for EtherNet / IP. These support companies in securing their communication. CIP-Security was developed by the global organization for trade and standard developments ODVA and is the only standard that secures the communication between industrial control systems and other devices in an EtherNet / IP network.
