Qualys integrates Ivanti Patch Management with the Qualys VMDR platform. End devices update themselves with just one click. Qualys’s Vulnerability Management Detection Response (VMDR) platform streamlines vulnerability detection and patching from endpoint to data center.

Ivanti and Qualys, a pioneer and leading provider of disruptive cloud-based IT, security and compliance solutions, are expanding their partnership. The expansion provides for the integration of the Ivanti patch management technology into the VMDR® platform (Vulnerability Management Detection Response) from Qualys. This next phase of integration will then allow Qualys customers to patch MacOS systems as well as over 70 third-party Mac applications directly through Qualys VMDR.

The partnership between Ivanti and Qualys includes tight integration of Ivanti Patch Management with Qualys VMDR to automate and simplify the patching process. This enables customers to quickly identify vulnerabilities from the end device to the data center and automatically distribute expertly pre-tested Mac patches for dozens of third-party applications. The current patch coverage for Microsoft includes both security-relevant and non-security-relevant content for all supported products, operating systems and applications. Microsoft Office is also included. The Ivanti Patch Catalog is one of the most comprehensive catalogs in the industry and currently secures over 180 million devices worldwide.

"Ivanti's expanded partnership with Qualys underscores our goal of helping deliver end-to-end security solutions," said Nayaki Nayyar, Ivanti's executive vice president and chief product officer. "Our recently announced Ivanti Neurons platform provides security teams with advanced automation functions to identify, prioritize and remediate vulnerabilities and repair PCs and edge devices themselves."

Patch critical vulnerabilities in real time

"The seamless integration of Ivanti and Qualys technologies with VMDR takes endpoint security to the next level," said Sumedh Thakar, President and Chief Product Officer of Qualys. “By extending Ivanti's leading patch management technology from Windows to Mac, Qualys VMDR now orchestrates the entire process of detecting, prioritizing and patching critical vulnerabilities in real time in hybrid IT environments including MacOS devices. In addition, we are able to build a bridge between IT and SecOps workflows in order to secure and manage remote employees, which are growing explosively today, more efficiently. "

Qualys VMDR is a cloud-based all-in-one application that automates the entire cycle of vulnerability management in all conceivable environments, be it on-premise, in end devices or in the cloud, mobile, container, OT and IoT Environments. It dramatically accelerates the ability of organizations to respond to threats and prevent security breaches. The cloud-based application is easy to deploy and the pricing is asset-based so it is easy to procure. Ivanti's patch management technology is available today as an integrated component of Qualys VMDR.

Fast integration of a complete patch management solution

Ivanti OEM partner patch management technology, marketed as the Ivanti® Security Controls SDK, is made available to partners through a number of SDKs. These enable a complete patch management solution to be quickly integrated into existing security solutions. The SDKs cover the patch management lifecycle from endpoint device assessment to patch packaging to patch deployment. In this way, partners deliver a complete application security solution with patch content that covers Windows OS, MacOS and Linux flavors, as well as thousands of third-party applications. Regardless of whether a partner's solution supports customers in the cloud, on-premise or in the data center: The SDKs from Ivanti Security Controls allow OEM partners to provide agent-based and agentless patches in completely heterogeneous environments.
