Share post

Proofpoint, Inc., one of the leading next-generation cybersecurity and compliance companies, is introducing several innovations to its three primary platforms: threat protection, compliance and the new platform for information protection and cloud security.

Proofpoint's Information Protection and Cloud Security Platform, available today, is the first cloud-native solution on the market that includes Enterprise Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Insider Threat Management, Cloud App Security Broker (CASB), Zero Trust Network Access, Remote browser isolation and a cloud native web security solution combined.

Hybrid working models for cloud applications

“People are undoubtedly the new perimeter – especially when companies introduce hybrid working models and increasingly use cloud applications. Today's enhancements to our people-centric offering help protect employees and businesses from a combination of advanced threats, data loss and compliance risks,” said Ryan Kalember, Proofpoint's executive vice president of cybersecurity strategy. “Our insights and knowledge of the industry are second to none. They are powered by Proofpoint's Machine Learning NexusAI and trillions of datasets across all major digital channels. We're always working to create security innovations that protect people from today's most dangerous threats, no matter where they work."

Every day, Proofpoint analyzes more than 2,2 billion emails, 35 billion URLs, 200 million file attachments, 35 million cloud accounts and much more. The further developments now presented complement Proofpoint's platforms for threat protection, compliance as well as information protection and cloud security. In detail, the further developments include:

Proofpoints new Information Protection and Cloud Security Platform

  • Proofpoint Web Security: Now available, Proofpoint's new cloud-native security solution offers monitoring and isolation options when users access the Internet. In combination with Proofpoint's solutions CASB, remote browser isolation and Zero Trust Network Access, companies receive a new security architecture based on Secure Access Service Edge (SASE). This can be used to ensure access controls in connection with threat and data protection for users who access applications on the Internet, cloud services and private applications.
  • Managed transition services: This new service, which is available following the Intelisecure integration, supports companies in all aspects of the migration to an innovative, person-centered DLP solution.

Proofpoint's innovations in the area of threat protection stop BEC and put people at the center of the security strategy

  • Proofpoints Advanced BEC Defense, Powered by Supernova: The solution is designed to prevent attempted fraud using Business Email Compromise (BEC, also known as CEO fraud). This function is supported by a completely new detection platform called Supernova. It uses incoming and outgoing gateway telemetry, supply chain risk analysis and API data from cloud platforms such as Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace to detect even the most sophisticated fraud attacks via email. The function is available from today to all Protection, TAP and P-Bundle customers at no additional cost.

Email fraud costs companies nearly $ 2 billion annually - and according to the latest FBI Internet Crime Report, it has been the category with the highest financial damage in cybersecurity for several years. In just one month, Advanced BEC Defense has already prevented hundreds of millions of dollars of potential losses from attempted BEC attacks.

  • Comprehensive packages for Proofpoint Threat Protection: The threat protection platform from Proofpoint is now available in three packages with different functions. It offers person-specific protection against email and cloud threats, including ransomware, credential phishing, BEC and more.
  • New CISO Dashboard for Proofpoint Security Awareness Training: This new dashboard, which will be available at the beginning of the third quarter of 2021, offers Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) insights into the success rate of their security awareness program. In addition, they receive information in the dashboard that enables a comparison within their own industry. This strengthens the people-centered security approach.

Proofpoint Compliance Platform offers innovation through machine learning and advanced capture

  • NexusAI for Compliance: The Proofpoint NexusAI for Compliance, announced in May 2021, uses machine learning to master compliance-related challenges and to quickly identify compliance violations in order to save time and money.
  • Proofpoint Content Capture Digest-based Data Collection and Storage: The content capture solution from Proofpoint, available at the beginning of the third quarter of 2021, will provide improved data collection and storage - in both cases the assignment is based on the context for better analysis - and verification in the proof point Enterprise Archives include. This innovation helps to meet the constantly growing amounts of data. It also enables digital communication content to be captured natively in full conversations - uniformly across all channels and user identities - and not in independent chat messages. This functionality minimizes the time required for verification and at the same time increases the accuracy of risk identification.
