Nursing services have been subject to the strict provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) since 2018. But many providers have been taking the associated data protection requirements "quite loosely" for years. TeamDrive helps care services to manage the personal data of people in need of care, relatives and staff in a legally secure manner.

Often personal data, medical information and accounting files are sent unencrypted by email. If the violations are exposed, severe penalties are imminent. In addition, owners or managing directors are usually held personally accountable in the event of data protection violations.

Data management service creates legal certainty

The Hamburg-based TeamDrive GmbH wants to remedy this with its data management service of the same name. TeamDrive ensures that all data is stored in a legally compliant manner in accordance with the GDPR, without the nursing staff having to install their own server or have IT know-how. The databases for different people, groups and incidents can be stored individually in a legally secure manner in order to meet the strict data protection requirements. Relatives, people in need of care and all other groups can legally access the information intended for them.

The costs are only 4,20 euros per month per user. The minimum number of users is five, which results in an annual amount of 299 euros. This includes the use of the software, the storage capacities, the contract for data order processing required according to the GDPR and technical support for questions.

Legally secure üBeyond the requirements of the GDPR

As the provider emphasizes, TeamDrive complies with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the principles for the proper management and storage of books, records and documents in electronic form as well as for data access (GoBD). TeamDrive also meets the requirements for professional secrets such as tax consultants, auditors and lawyers in accordance with Section 203 of the Criminal Code (StGB). This means that even the use of highly sensitive medical data, such as those generated by nursing services, is legally unproblematic.

TeamDrive is considered to be "secure sync & share software made in Germany" for storing, synchronizing and sharing data and documents, because it meets the high security requirements in accordance with Section 203 of the Criminal Code for persons with professional confidentiality. The basis is end-to-end encryption that ensures that only the user himself can read the data - neither TeamDrive nor any government agency in the world can decrypt the data. Since the beginning of 2020, this has even been confirmed with the “EuroPriSe” data protection seal. This technical and legally binding security is valued by over 500.000 users and more than 5.500 companies from all sectors, from industry to healthcare, business and tax advice to public administration.
