New service offering makes it easier for partners to determine the right firewall for the needs of their customers - on premise, virtual or for the cloud: the new sizing tool for Sophos Firewalls.

Sophos is expanding its partner services with a new firewall sizing tool, which is now available online. With the tool, partners can individually and needs-based determine the ideal combination of hardware from the XGS series as well as virtual or cloud appliances for the individual needs of the companies they support. The compilation takes into account the requirements for the current IT structure as well as future stages of expansion, which are based on the development of the company.

Firewalls: Sizing Tool for Partners

With the Sophos Firewall Sizing Tool, partners have a practical tool in their Sophos partner portal to show customers all facets of security - starting with the necessary basic protection through to optimal security with extended options. The tool can be used to plan typical security infrastructures that exist in many small and medium-sized companies. The Sophos Firewall Sizing Desk is available for very complex environments, where experts from Sophos work together with the partner to develop the ideal configuration.

Scaling potential of the security components

The planning tool can be used easily and intuitively by the partner. It calculates the performance and the required scaling potential of the security components over the coming years, for example based on the current WAN bandwidth and the volumes that are likely to be required in the future. Information about necessary security features, VPN connections, the wireless network or the number of users with special authentication is also included. The partner receives a clear overview of the minimum and the optimal option - both for on-premise hardware and for virtual appliances or cloud appliances on Azure and AWS, including the licensing variants.
