A specialist in endpoint and cloud security, today announced the availability of Mobile Endpoint Security for Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs) in the Mobile Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) space.
This solution enables MSSPs to offer a complete, turnkey program to identify risks, protect sensitive data, and secure their customers' mobile devices. With Lookout Mobile EDR, MSSPs can help organizations reduce the risk of data breaches from mobile phishing, ransomware, and device and app vulnerability exploits.
New normal
As organizations adapt to the “new normal” of remote working and continue to invest in mobile devices, many still struggle to keep up with mobile security. According to industry data, less than half of SMBs have some form of mobile security. As a result, mobile threats are increasing year by year. The latest Lookout report, Global State of Mobile Phishing, shows that 2022 will have the highest percentage of mobile phishing attacks of all time. Lookout also found that users across all devices, whether personal or work, are clicking more mobile phishing links than they were two years ago.
Mobile risk management
Lookout's Mobile EDR program for MSSPs enables them to address these mobile security challenges head-on. By partnering with Lookout, MSSPs have access to Lookout's cellular data set of security telemetry. This uses graph-based machine intelligence, analyzes data from more than 210 million devices and 175 million apps worldwide and records four million web URLs every day. In addition, Lookout's comprehensive Mobile EDR solution enables MSSPs to detect and block mobile phishing attempts and detect unauthorized camera and microphone access by surveillanceware. The solution is also able to detect and prevent credential theft and data exfiltration. Additional functionality enables devices to be detected when they are compromised, all apps to be checked for risky behavior, and vulnerabilities in apps and operating systems to be identified.
New security strategy
Lookout also helps MSSPs conserve resources by reducing policy management time by 80 percent. Other benefits for MSSPs include a 95 percent self-care rate and optimized mobile device power consumption, resulting in fewer support tickets, and built-in multi-tenancy for easier management. “As the threat landscape becomes more sophisticated, organizations of all sizes must evolve their security strategy to keep up with and proactively address these threats. However, many do not have the security tools or skills to do the job alone,” said Eva-Maria Elya, vice president, MSSP Sales at Lookout. “The MSSP ecosystem comes naturally as a partner to turn to for help managing their security posture, including identifying risks, ensuring compliance and protecting sensitive data across their device landscape. By expanding our channel partner program to include MSSPs, we ensure these customers have access to the best security solutions offered by the leading MSSP organizations.”
