Leaseweb Cloud Connect: Hybrid cloud infrastructure solution available now. Cooperation with Megaport offers a fast, flexible, agile and cost-effective solution for connecting cloud infrastructures with public clouds.

Leaseweb, provider of hosting and cloud services worldwide, has announced the launch of Leaseweb Cloud Connect. Cloud Connect is a hybrid cloud solution that allows customers to seamlessly connect their Leaseweb hosted infrastructure to their public cloud or hyperscaler environment. In partnership with Megaport, a leading network-as-a-service provider, Leaseweb Cloud Connect will initially provide a connection to AWS. The connection of further leading hyperscalers is planned for the course of the year.

Leaseweb Cloud Connect is aimed at companies that want to flexibly distribute workloads between their infrastructure of Leaseweb and hyperscalers depending on changing requirements and financial framework. Depending on the project and budget requirements, customers can choose between different connection speeds from 100 Mbit / s to 10 Gbit / s. The new offering is a tailor-made and cost-effective solution that helps companies to efficiently scale infrastructure, services, applications and data in a public cloud environment while at the same time gaining more control over their cloud-based infrastructure.

The solution is based on Megaport's software-defined networking technology and integrates its virtual public cloud interfaces and gateways. With more than 170 cloud-on-ramps, the solution offers the greatest reach worldwide. Thanks to this collaboration, Leaseweb can offer its customers more options for connecting hybrid clouds to various public cloud infrastructures.

Cloud Connect is a hybrid cloud solution

"Leaseweb Cloud Connect offers companies an efficient way to build secure networks that connect Leaseweb cloud infrastructures to public clouds," said Nikolaos Kolestsas, Product Manager, Leaseweb Global. “The new offer represents a hybrid cloud solution with which companies can use a public cloud for development, PaaS functions, one-off workloads and big data platforms and at the same time use Leaseweb for business-critical applications and related data or specific production environments. Megaport's software-defined network provides precisely the scalable, secure connectivity to on-ramps for clouds that is required to ensure top performance. This approach minimizes infrastructure costs and increases the speed with which companies can bring new products and services to market. "

"We are pleased that Leaseweb has chosen our Network-as-a-Service platform to offer the new solution," said Peter Hase, Chief Commercial Officer at Megaport. “Leaseweb Cloud Connect strengthens Leaseweb's position among hybrid cloud providers. This also gives Leaseweb the opportunity to offer its SME and start-up customers an extended cloud access service. We appreciate the partnership with Leaseweb and look forward to supporting the further development of the company, especially because the demand for hybrid and multi-cloud systems across Europe continues to grow.
