LANCOM Systems is now providing an update for its software VPN client for MacBook Pro, iMac, Mac Pro & Co. The VPN client enables full remote access to a company network via highly secure IPSec VPN and any Internet connection.

With the LANCOM Advanced VPN Client, employees can dial into the company network via encrypted access at any time - whether in the home office or on the go, at home or abroad.

It is very easy to use: after the VPN access (Virtual Private Network) has been configured once, the secure VPN connection is set up intuitively with just one click. The support of all IPSec protocol extensions and other security features such as strong authentication via fingerprint, multi-certificate and IKEv2 support with IKEv2 redirect functionality ensure additional data protection. This means that the client's VPN tunnel endpoint can be automatically rerouted to another gateway, which enables more efficient load distribution in environments with multiple gateways. The client can be operated in compliance with FIPS (Federal Information Processing Standard). The macOS keychain can be used as a certificate store.

Version 4.6 of the LANCOM Advanced VPN Client for macOS supports the current operating systems macOS 11 (Big Sur) and macOS 12 (Monterey) on Apple products with an Apple M1 chip or Intel CPU.

Comprehensive IPv4 / IPv6 and operating system support

In addition to the two latest macOS versions, the updated VPN client supports up to 250 split tunnel networks with IPv4 and IPv6. In addition, it enables local networks to be forwarded in the tunnel. The handling of DNS requests through the VPN tunnel - or, in the case of split tunneling, past the tunnel - has also been optimized.

The LANCOM Advanced VPN Client for macOS is part of the Apple-compatible solution portfolio from LANCOM: VPN routers and VPN gateways as well as WLAN access points based on Wi-Fi 5, Wi-Fi 6 and soon Wi-Fi 6E. The LANCOM Advanced VPN Client can be used universally and enables connection to all IPSec-compliant routers or VPN gateways. All customers who have activated a license for the LANCOM Advanced VPN Client 4.0 or who have a license that has not yet been activated receive the upgrade to the latest version free of charge.
