Kaspersky is expanding its Digital Footprint Intelligence with a malicious domain removal service. Kaspersky Takedown Service provides end-to-end management of the entire process of removing malicious phishing domains.
Together with Kaspersky Digital Footprint [2], which helps analysts shed light on the adversary's view of company assets, companies can effectively respond to malicious sources or phishing threats targeting their organization and their customers.
Blocked: 15.000 phishing URLs per day
Kaspersky blocks more than 15.000 phishing and scam URLs every day [3]. If a company fails to clean up the malicious content, its customers can become victims of fake websites, giving attackers access to their personal and financial information. Organizations are also at risk of serious data leaks from botnets controlled by attackers' command-and-control (C&C) servers. All of this can lead to brand damage, loss of sales and loss of customer confidence.
Global coverage, comprehensive cyber protection
However, taking down malicious and phishing domains is a complex process that requires specialized expertise, resources and time. Thanks to Kaspersky's extensive experience in threat research and long-term cooperation with international organizations and law enforcement agencies, including INTERPOL and Europol, as well as Computer Emergency Response Teams (CERTs), the Kaspersky Takedown Service ensures effective protection of online services and the reputation of companies.
Due to its global coverage, the service can quickly eliminate the malicious phishing domain no matter where it is located. For this purpose, Kaspersky prepares all the necessary evidence, including a copy of the website, screenshots and traffic dumps, both manually and through automated tools. Then, the request for taking down the website is sent to the relevant local or regional authority, which has the right to block the resource. The customer will be notified of each step of the process until the requested domain has been successfully removed.
Individual order or as part of a Digital Footprint Intelligence subscription
The service can be purchased independently or as part of a Kaspersky Digital Footprint Intelligence (DFI) subscription. In the first case, customers can use the Kaspersky corporate account to submit requests for removal of certain unwanted domains that they have detected. In the second case, the DFI service takes over the identification of malicious or phishing resources that attack the customer. The latter receives a notification that malicious content has been identified and can then initiate the takedown process. The standard package includes ten takedowns per month and can be adjusted as needed.
"Kaspersky Digital Footprint Intelligence supported by the Takedown Service is an important addition to our threat intelligence portfolio," comments Christian Milde, General Manager Central Europe at Kaspersky. "Just like the other Kaspersky TI products, this service brings together our expertise to meet our customers' needs and frees up their cybersecurity departments so that in-house specialists can focus on higher priority goals."
